SIDE A’s music will surely captivate you with their original songs that will bring back a lot of memories. Known for their romantic ballads and up-beat live performances, the group never stop on reinventing themselves and have worked so hard to give their very best in both recordings and live concerts.

A multi-awarded and certified platinum recording artists, SIDE A is considered as the most durable band in the country today and continues to be an ever-innovative musical force in the industry.

Although they have achieved commercial success with the release of their self-titled album in 1989 (Dipa Huli & Eva Marie), WHITE Album (Hold on, 1991) and BLUE Album (Tuloy pa rin ako, 1992) Albums, their critical success came largely as a result of the release of “Forevermore”. The single is written by the band’s bassist, Joey Benin and won them numerous awards and accolades including Song of the year in the prestigious 8th annual (1995) Awit awards.

After doing mostly original compositions from the band, It was in 1998 that Side A decided to record OPM hits from different notable composers of the land which includes among others, works of national artist Lucio San Pedro (Ugoy ng duyan) and George Canseco (Kailangan kita) as their tribute to the masters of Original Pilipino Music. Some industry insiders say that Side A is instrumental in shaping the course of live entertainment and band scene in the country today, since their commercial success in the early ninety’s. Until now, they continue to dominate the club scene and constantly perform in various Filipino communities abroad: USA, Canada, Australia, U.K., U.A.E., Japan and Southeast Asia.

NALDY GONZALEZ
(Keyboards/Vocals)

As the band’s musical director and arranger, he has worked in their albums with a mission of coming up with a distinct sound that is Side A’s own. The only remaining founder of Side A that was formed way back in November of 1985, he came from a family of artists and was influenced by his mother as his first piano teacher. His ability to compose and interpret his own songs has showed his versatility as a performer.

JOEY GENEROSO
(Lead Vocals & Acoustic Guitars)

Their followers fondly call him Joey G., known for his versatile and powerful voice. His style of singing has become the group’s trademark in the airwaves and was acknowledged as the voice of Side A. He studied at U.S.T. Conservatory of music and started singing at a very young age and was a solo/folk singer before he joined different bands, until he finally found himself joining the group in 1989. His soulful rendition of Hold on, Forevermore and Tell me among others has put the band at the top of the chart in different radio stations.

NED ESGUERRA
(Bass guitars/Vocals)

Prior to joining SIDE A in July 2007,Ned was musical director, bassist and chief songwriter for the band Freeverse. Having been given a great opportunity to be a part of the band that he has always looked up to and idolized, Ned’s mission is to maintain the level of excellence that Side A has always been known for so that the band may still continue to entertain and touch the hearts of its loyal patrons for many more years to come. It is his ultimate dream to have his original compositions recorded, released and performed by Side A.

ERNIE SEVERINO
(Drums/Vocals)

He started as a drummer in college with the Philippine Youth Orchestra and eventually to the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra. A graduate of U.P. College of Music, he got involved with different jazz bands in the University and has done sessions with some of the country’s best singers before he joined Side A in 1991. He is also noted for composing the song (When I see you tonight) in the Titanium Album that earned the band good reviews from deejays of top radio stations in Manila. He is also part of Zildjian’s select endorsers worldwide.

LEEVON CAILAO
(Lead Guitars/Vocals)

Coming from a family of musicians, he is the latest addition to the band. He started with Side A last September 2004 and has proven his worth by showing his acquired acquired talent in guitar playing and singing. His fresh musical approach has added a new twist in the overall sound of the band and gave their followers something to watch out for during live performances. With his addition, the band is looking forward to come up with a new album.
